I have been wondering about RutileWash and it’s magic qualities. Well my testing reviled a few things but nothing I would say was magic. I fire to Cone ^6 Oxidation. I used 2 cups of MC6G Clear liner glaze and one tablespoon of rutile. Not very scientific <G>.
So the most amazing thing was YELLOW. Who would have guessed? The middle tile is Kodiak stoneware 5-7 cone firing, and the test had this tile standing up. I dipped in cream first and than dipped in the rutile mix. I really like this yellow. The last tile is Chestnut ,dark brown stoneware cone 5-7. Nice as well with the same one dip cream ,one dip rutile mix.
The First tile is Chestnut (drk brw) field mouse brown MC6G dip and sponge on rutile mix. The second one (Kodiak) is Raspberry with sponge rutile mix and the third is Licorice MC6G and I dipped the top half in rutile mix. It’s interesting to see that YELLOW up at the top on the last tile. Very Cool.
