Storage Jars

June 7, 2009 · 7 Comments

Well I got some pots and ladles glazed and the kiln loaded and fired up.  Back in the studio was “RECLAIMING” clay.  I usually go to 3 buckets and than do something about it.

From Bucket to wedging table, 2 days later and I have reclaimed clay!  YIPPY!

I first started out with similar lids but different “knobs”  Looks OK but I changed it to include “3″ little petals so the look similar.  I than made a third jar matching so I have a set for the show.

I think the 3 little petals work with little seeds in the middle?

Made a couple more Storage jars with flatter lids and a colorado style to them.

The lid has an interior flange that holds it in place.  The jar is just a cylinder with Texture.

Glaze focus

June 7, 2009 · Leave a Comment

Well Today’s focus is on GLAZING!  I made up a bunch of Glazes yesterday, got them all strained through mesh, and that were able to sit over night.  I will stir again before using today.

It’s a nice warm day so spending time in the “garagzio” will be rather enjoyable. I have 5 ladles to fire up today alot with pots for the June show.  I will post pictures of glaze results in the coming day or so.

Happy Potting!
